i'm a spacebound rocket ship & your heart's the moon

[Spacebound - Eminem]

Big apologies for not posting in over a week! My laptop charger got blown out by a dodgy extension socket thing in the mothers room, so I'm still waiting for a new one to arrive. I'm posting this from the main house computer, which I absolutely hate, but it must be done!

I've been home ill for the last few days, which is good because these days I'm so fed up of school, and simply cant be arsed, but bad because of all the work I'm gonna need to catch up on. Plus, tomorrow is result's day from the AS exams I did in January, so I'm not looking forward to seeing a big fat FAIL on the paper :( To make things worse, tomorrow is also the 4 year anniversary of my friends death (read about it here), so everyone's gonna be a bit bummed out :(

but on a lighter note, here's what I wore to sixth form on Monday. I'm not gonna do regular sixth form outfit posts, kuz I tend to wear the same thing, just swapping blazers & shirts.

[Blazer - H&M; Shirt - boohoo.com; Skirt - from the mother]
Here's a closeup of the shirt. It's such a beautiful shirt, floral design with pearl buttons. The only flaw is that it's not very well made - the button holes weren't closed up properly, so all the silky material is loose, causing the buttons to become stuck in them, I've lost so many buttons on it :(

My skirt is a mini pleated denim skirt that the mother bought for me a while ago. I'm not sure if it was designed to be high waisted, but that's the only way I can wear it, plus I think it looks so much better :)
And to finish the outfit out, I teamed it with my Vans that I got from Macy's in New York back in the summer of 2007. I love these shoes so much, but they have seen better days! I plan on keeping them until they actually fall apart (getting close to that time!)

That's all for now, I'll try to do a post summing up my favourite picks from all the Fashion Weeks (including Kate Moss & the cigarette!) some time this week!

xoxo, lizz

i'm starting with the man in the mirror

[Man In The Mirror - Michael Jackson]

I'm sitting here at my desk for work experience. I asked my mum to find something for me, as I've already got a Burberry work experience set up for the summer holidays, and if I asked the school, they would find me some crappy primary school round the corner from my house :| So yeah, since monday, i've been working at various underground stations across central london, and it hasn't been as bad as i thought it would be.
On Monday, i got to sell tickets in the ticket office, which was actually quite fun, and many-a-sexy tourists were there ;) But since tuesday, i've been doing mainly office and admin work, and sitting in on meetings and such. Tomorrow, i get to sit at the front of a train with the driver, which I think i'm looking forward to.. xD

But yeah, enough of that. I apologise for the lack of posts over the last few weeks, I just haven't had the enthusiasm lately, and especially after hearing the news of Michael Jackson's demise, that's completely knocked me down. He's been my idol since i was a bebe, and to think that he's gone forever is depressing. Since last Friday, I've done nothing but listen to all of his songs, constantly watching the news for information about him, and i've bought over 20 tribute newspaper/magazines for him. My mum thinks I've gone crazy, but she just doesn't understand..
I was even looking for tickets to fly out to Santa Barbara for the public viewing of his body, but it's been cancelled now :(
Ohwell, Michael Joseph Jackson, Rest In Perfect Peace ♥

Another post in about 5 minutes, more cheerful, I promise :D

no worries, papa's got a brand new bag of toys

[Just Lose It - Eminem]

Another week has passed with my terrible blogging, but I will be back shortly! Friday I have my first GCSE, and then 2 more next week, so I'm up to my neck in revision :( I've even taken the day off school today to revise!
However, after next Friday, I promise I'll post more regularly, especially now that my new camera arrived this morning :D About time if you ask me, so now I no longer have to use the crappy family camera which we've had for like a million years, or my phone which is just bollox.

Anyways, more interesting stuff :) If you remember, a couple of months back I entered the Vogue Young Writers contest, and on Monday, I received a letter from Alexandra Shulman, the Editor-in-Chief :o Unfortunately, I didn't get in, but they loved what I wrote ^_^
Photobucket

Now, I must return to the delightful revision :|
Have a good day folks (:

let me hold you, for the last time (and it's my birthday tomorrow :D)

[Broken Strings - James Morrison&Nelly Furtado]

Ahh, I am such a bad blogger person D; I was supposed to do a post on Saturday when I got back from the Clothes Show London (which was amazing by the way, I'll do a full post about it at the end of the week), but I got caught up in the Britain's Got Talent Finals - which I'm so glad Susan bloody Boyle didn't win! - and friends came round with drinks and well...

But erm yeah.
I shall resume more regular posting by the end of June, as my science GCSE's start next Friday :|

And tomorrow is my birthday! Feel free to send me some Laboutins, or maybe a Luella dress, or a Phillip Lim blazer, I'm not fussy :p I shall be 15... Wow, I feel so old D;

A very uninteresting post, I do apologise.
I hope you have all had a good week so far, the weather has been absolutely glorious, except for today which has been a bit bland.
But nevertheless, a good week still :)

je suis desole.

I would love to say that I've been extremely busy, that I've not had a second to spare in the last week, but unfortunately I cannot. There's no point lying, the truth is that, well, I just lacked inspiration to write anything.

And as much as I'd also like to say that so much has happened, that I've got sooo much to tell you all, frankly, there is nothing to tell. Like, at all. I've become a very boring person these days to be completely honest, I do nothing but sleep, eat and revise. Sigh.

However, I got my hair cut again on Friday. The last time I got it cut was the 3rd June 2008, the day before my birthday, and I got it cut into a sort of pixie cut thing. But yeah, that grew out, and it became far too long for my liking. So on Friday, I went to get it cut. This time, its far more choppy, with a fringe that's sort-of-a-full-fringe-but-not-really-at-the-same-time sort of thing :) And the back of my head is like, shaved. Not like bald or anything, but it's just like reallyyy short :) I love getting my hair shaved, I love the feeling of it on my head.. Weird, I know ^^ Anyways, enough rambling, you can see for yourself :)
Photobucket
Photobucket
One friend says I look like a little french boy.. Another says it's very Zachary Quinto in Star Trek (Spock), and then my mum reckons it's very Halle Berry-esque.. What do you think?

Anyways, random outfit from like weeeeks ago.

[Jumper - Disneyland Paris; Skirt - New Look]

My obsession with skirts is growing.

I hope everyone's had a good week so far :)

bonjour.

This is the first time I've written/spoken English all day. French orals begin tomorrow, and my teacher is picking people from a hat to do theirs, so I may have to do mine tomorrow :| Memorising the answers to about 20 questions is hard work :( Wish me luck though!

Also, my tickets for the Clothes Show London came yesterday! Eeeeek I am soo happy, it's exactly 2 weeks away. Speaking of the Clothes Show, next weekend is going to be spent planning my outfit, and I'm gonna need you guy's advice!

I wish my week was more eventful, because this is pretty boring.
OH WAIT.

Some national theatre in Croydon is doing a production of Twelfth Night by Shakespeare, and a few schools have been selected to submit about 15 pupils each. My school held auditions for years 7 to 10, so me and my friends thought we'd give it ago.
Anyhow, the auditions for year 9&10 were on Wednesday, and we just had to get into groups of 2 or 3 and go through a scene over and over again, while my drama teacher walked around watching. When she came to my pair, she loved it!
So when the callback sheet came up the next day, I was glad to see my name on it :)
The callback audition is on Wednesday, and if I get through that then I'll be in the play :)
More info about that later, probably :D

Anyways, I hope you guys have had good weeks, and an even better weekend!

Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody.

[Help! - The Beatles]

No true meaning behind my choice of song for today's post, I've had that song stuck in my head for the past week now ^^
I've been tagged by the lovely Louise @ Because Wearing Black Looks Mysterious - check out her blog if you haven't seen it, great posts :D

Anyways, here goes :)
1] What are your current obsessions?
Tights. I've never really cared much for hoisery, I used to live in my skinny jeans so I didn't really bother with tights. But now that I rarely wear trousers, and I hate having my legs out NAKED, i'm suddenly obsessed with tights! My collection is rapidly increasing everyday, it's fascinating! I also have an obsession with Dr Pepper (which has been on and off for the last couple of years), and Snickers. Yum :D

[2] What is your weirdest obsession?
Hmm.. People reckon my High School Musical obsession is pretty weird, but I don't think it's weird! I don't even think it's an obsession tbh, love and passion would be more correct terms :D But I do have an obsession with the smell of nail varnish remover..

[3] What are you wearing today?
Phillip Lim blazer, Luella dress and Marni heels..
HA. In my dreams. I wish I could say that, but unfortunately I'm in my school uniform, which consists of a grey blazer (of which i've folded the sleeves over, cause i'm cool ¬_¬), grey jumper, white shirt, grey skirt and grey tights :)

[4] What’s for dinner today?
Meh, I dunno. I cooked a mahusive pot of rice yesterday, so it will probably be some of that.

[5] Why is today special?
I don't know really. Maybe because it's like 3 weeks and 3 days til my birthday. Or 2 weeks until the half term. However, it could purely be for the fact that 90210 is on tonight, which can make anyones day special :)

[6] What would you like to learn to do?
I really wanna learn to speak Russian, purely because Russian people have awesome names and their history is majorly entertaining. I also wanna learn how to swim, but I know thats impossible for me. And I wanna learn Japanese, because it sounds so interesting.

[7] What’s the last thing you bought?
Erm a packet of cheese & onion walkers and a lucozade after school :) Because i am that hardcore. But erm before that, it might probably be the Clothes Show London tickets, which I mentioned in my last post :)

[8] What are you listening to right now?
3AM - Eminem.
He's my soulmate, I actually love him with a passion.
Oh, well it's just changed to Hoedown Throwdown - Hannah Montana.
POP IT, LOCK IT, POLKA DOT IT, COUNTRIFY AND HIP HOP IT, PUT YOUR HAWK IN THE SKY MOVE SIDE TO SIDE, JUMP TO THE LEFT, STICK IT, GLIDEEEEEE, zig zag, cross the floor, shuffle in diagonal, when the drum hits, hands on your hips, one footed 180 twist.
Gosh I do love that song :D

[9] What is your most challenging goal right now?
Probably passing the science GCSE's i'm doing in June. And getting more confidence. Something which I lack greatly.

[10] What do you think about the person who tagged you?
Louise! I think she's gorgeousss and her blog is amazing! She's a really down-to-earth girl, and i enjoy seeing her latest buys and fashion tips.

[11] If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
Somewhere in America. Or France. Or back where I used to live, in West London, which was a 2 minute walk from Portobello Road, and 20mins on the bus to Oxford Street. Sigh.

[12] What would you like to have in your hands right now?
MONEY. Lots and lots of money. Then I could all I wanted. Damn this recession.

[13] What would you like to get rid of?
Ha, in my french orals, one of the questions was how would I improve my area, and I said I would get rid of all the old people because they take up too much space.
Anyways, erm I would get rid of all spiders and squirrels and rats, purely because they are the most terrifying creatures ever.

[14] If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Anywhere in America. But it takes like 8hours to get there, so it's not really worth the jetlag if I'll only be there for 1 hour.

[15] Which language do you want to learn?
Japanese and Russian.

[16] What do you look for in a friend?
Someone who is nice and funny, and I've got a lot in common with. It would be nice if they had a good dress sense, but giving them makeovers would be fun :D

[17] Who do you want to meet in person?
Luella Bartley - i would actually bow down and kiss her feet.
And Alexa Chung. And Robert Kazinsky.

[18] What’s your favorite type of music?
My taste in music is larger than your nans pants, no lie. I listen to screamo bands like Bring Me The Horizon & Slipknot, rock/pop punk (Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte), Rap (Eminem, 50 Cent), Hip Hip/R&B (Kanye West, Chris Brown), random pop (Girls Aloud, Miley Cyrus), grime/bashment/garage (Chipmunk, JME, Tinchy Stryder), old school (marvin gaye, the beatles), indie-ish (babyshambles, ladyhawke) and everything else, including bassline, techno, raver shit, blues blah blah blah :)

[19] What’s the favorite piece of clothing in your own closet?
I cannot pick one! :o It might be a skirt.. But I dont know which skirt -rubs chin thoughtfully-

[20] What is your dream job?
Something in the fashion industry. I'm gonna do a fashion promotion/marketing course at LCF or CSM (hopefully), and then move on to becoming a stylist for the stars xD

[21] Any favorite models?
My all time favourite would probably be Lily Donaldson, she is amazing. And I love Agyness, though she's too overrated these days. Alexa Chung obviously, because she is beyond beautiful, and Alice Dellal.

[22] What would you mostly likely spend $100 on?
$100 = £66.0676533, which is really not that much! I'd probably buy a nice pair of heels from Matalan or New Look, then get a dress and a top or saiink :D

[23] What would you like an endless supply of?
See 12.

[24] Girl crush?
Uhh I could go on forever! Being a hetroflexible is amazing. Kristen Stewart when she has blonde hair! Wow. Erm Emma Rigby (Hannah Ashworth in Hollyoaks), Alexa Chung, Tyra Banks, Beyonce, Cassie, Lily Donaldson and millions more.

[25] Do you admire anyone’s style?
Alexa Chung, Lily Allen, Kaya Scodelairo, Naomi and Emily from Skins series 3, Blake Lively - especially when she plays Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl, and one of the art teachers in my school! She dresses very vintage and her clothes are amazing, very en vogue.

[26] Describe your personal style.
Very random and original, depending on my mood. It's quirky and can be eclectic, i do not wish to blend in with the crowds. I'm one of the people who will wear a trend thats not "en vogue" at the time.

That took me long. I got so distracted. Bad times.

That was what I wore on Saturday to see Hannah Montana The Movie, which is actually really good! It's a perfect 'feel good' movie :) (with amazingly gorgeous guys!). Also, my second pose was me being cool. Obviously.

Oooh, and I just booked me and my friends tickets for the Clothes Show London! Is anyone else going? I'll be there 30th May ;)

Anyways, that's all for now I spose. I promise to resume more regular postings as of now :D

It's all over, it's all over

[All Over - Lisa Mafia]

The title of this post is very relevant to what it's going to be about.. MY TESTS ARE ALL FINISHED! Well not really, i have one on Tuesday (monday's a bank holiday), but that just Religious Studies which i'm not too bothered about! Ahh, i feel so free! No more waking up ridiculously early (4am!) to revise, no more feeling completely drained after school, and no more having to sit in silence for up to 2 hours!

However, I have nothing completely interesting to say :\ All i can say is that the next article i'm writing for Sweet Designs Magazine will include a few of you bloggers, and i'll be getting in touch with certain people to make sure it's okay :)

Anyways, i hope you all have had a good week, and an even better weekend :) I'm going to see the Hannah Montana movie tomorrow! Mega excited tbh, I love abit of Hannah Montana I do :D

Stress, exams, e-zine

Okay, so my last post was like, over a week ago or something, and I do apologise!
My end of years/mock mocks/GCSE'S are this coming week, so i've been sooo busy with revision and stuff, not allowing myself to get distracted.

I'll try and post this week, but early apologies if I don't!

Oh, and I thought I'd also let you know that I'm now a Fashion & Beauty Writer for Sweet Designs Magazine! I recieved the email confirming this yesterday, and I'm really happy about it :) It's an online magazine for teenage girls, and it features everything from fashion and beauty tips to advice columns and real life stories, from girls all over the world.
And this is where YOU GUYS come in :) If you have any ideas for stories I could write about, then feel free to email me (omgee-its-lizzx@hotmail.co.uk) or leave a comment on one of my posts, it would be great to get you involved :)

But for now, I'm off to Nando's, as a sort of "good luck for your exams" meal avec ma famille :)

part trois.

WEDNESDAY

I went to DISNEYLAND PARIS! It was the second time I've been there, and it was amazing. I went with my mum and brothers, 1st class eurostar ;)
The weather was gorgeous, however, the queues for the rides and stuff were ridiculous!
At the end we went to the mahusive Disney Store, where we spent over £100 on souvenirs and gifts for other people, before running back to get on the eurostar.

Unluckily for you, no pictures in this post as we borrowed my aunt's fancy camera to take photos, so once she uploads them and emails them to me you can see :D

How have you guys spent your week so far?

xoxo, oh so glam

part deux.

TUESDAY

Despite being piled up to my head in revision for my upcoming exams, i decided to ditch it and go out with my best budss :D (well 2 of them, i have like 6 best friends). First we went down to Oxford Street, kuz my friend wanted to buy a bag from the big Topshop, and we spent like 20mins aimlessly wandering about.
However, in these 20minutes, I had my photo taken by a fashion website cause they liked my outfit! More details about this later ;)
Anyways, we got back on the train and went to Buckingham Palace where we pretended to be tourists aha, good times :p

But erm yeah, i guess you're wondering about the mysterious outfit that got my photo taken? Here goesss:

Photobucket
Photobucket
[Vest - Primark; Skirt - American Apparel; Belt - came with a random skirt; Tights - Topshop; Wayfarers - Primark]

I also wore a vintage denim jacket, and my white primark plimsoll things :)

this is a longting starrrr.

[Sorry You Are - Tinchy Stryder & Chipmunk]

The title of this post is highly relevant, as this may turn out to be quite long, considering how long i've not posted (okay it's been like 4 days, but that is pretty damn long!). However, i do not wish to give your eyes repetitive strain injury, so i'll break each day down into different posts. Starting with....

MONDAY.

Monday was the day of my cousin's 1st birthday (she's not really my cousin, she's more of a family friend but we're pretty close so i call her my cousin anyways), so we went round her house for a little shindig :)
It was pretty grooovy, i got abit drunk from mixing martini in my coke without no-one realising ahah :p
But erm yeah, this is what i wore:

Photobucket
Photobucket
[Blue sleeveless cardigan thingy - New Look; JLS top (underneath) - the JLS website; Wet look leggings - Random shop; Quilted chain bag - Dorothy Perkins]

I teamed this with a pair of not-too-high heels ;)

would you lie with me and just forget the world

[Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol]

Okay, so today was day two of my journalism course. It was sooo good! I never realised that the woman that was helping to co-ordinate it, Rowenna Davis, was a professional freelance journalist, and she writes for the Times, and the Guardian.
So today we interviewed some young people about what they thought about shops having mosquito devices installed, and filmed it. I was appointed as the photographer for it, as i'm the only one out of the other kids who knows how to take professional photos and stuff.
Anyways, Rowenna used her writing contacts to get us an over-the-phone interview with Sir Al Aynsley Green; the Child Commissioner of the UK!. This was also filmed, and I got to speak to him :) Now that we've had the opinion of someone with alot of authority, it's more than likely that our documentary will be broadcast on national TV :D But i'll let you know more about it, as tomorrow is the final day of the course :)

Swiftly moving on, here is what i wore today. I told you in the last post, i'd be wearing my new purchases soon, so here goes ^^ :

[Dress - New Look; Tights - H&M; Necklace - Primark; Bracelets - Various places; Pumps - Primark; Bag - Chanel]

I got my Chanel bag in November or December, given to me by my aunty, who's always giving me her unwanted designer goods :D!

Tuesday, 7 April 2009

you're the missing piece i need

[This Is Real, This Is Me - Demi Lovato/Joe Jonas]

So today was the first day of a Journalism course me and my friend enrolled in for the Easter Holidays. It lasts 3 days, and we're gonna build up skills on journalism, asking and answering questions, and filming.
I'll admit, i had my doubts about it, but it was quite good. Today, we just worked on interview questions and working with filming equipment. The people running it told us that tomorrow we're gonna go out into central London and interview shop owners that have a mosquito device (a mosquito device is a device, usually installed by shop owners, which produce a sound at a high frequency that only teenagers/young persons can hear, to prevent loitering), and if it's really good quality then it will be broadcast on national TV :)
I'm not gonna show what i wore, kuz i wore something similar a few weeks back.

Anyways, after, me and my friend went to Bluewater, and i did me some well deserved shopping :)
Here are my goods:

A cardigan thing, and a dress from New Look:
Photobucket

Patterned tights, a pink belt & two headbands from H&M:
Photobucket

Floral Tights from Topshop, and a purse from Dorothy Perkins:
Photobucket

I'll put on some decent photos of my new stuff once i wear them out, which should'nt be too long away.
As for now, I must crack on with revision! I have to memorise everything in my history folder and textbooks. Lovely :\

just the two of us

[Two Of Us - Eminem]

Today, me and my friends had planned to go and see Lesbian Vampire Killers at the cinema, but they cancelled last minute. So i ended up staying at home and catching up on Hollyoaks + Waterloo Road, but hey, i'm not complaining :D
Here is what i had planned on wearing out:
Photobucket
Photobucket
[Top - Mango; Skirt - River Island via ebay; Blue leggings - ?; Converses - Office]

I managed to win the skirt on ebay! It's so gorgeous, the material is so soft and it also has a little zip across the back.

REMINDER:
For those living in the UK, the clocks go forward tomorrow morning! Woo :)

but all i really want is to hold you tight

[Sometimes - Britney Spears]

I was planning on posting last night, but got distracted by seeing Zac Efron's gorgeouss face on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway :o I'm seeing Zac this week, at the 17 Again premiere (his new film, also starring Matthew Perry, aka Chandler from Friends), and i will actually pass out if he even looks at me. However, i managed to compose myself when i actually HAD A CONVERSATION WITH HIM at the HSM2 signing in 2007, so hopefully it will all be okay :)

Swiftly moving on, the harem trousers i ordered came on Friday! I look recieving packages in the post aha, and these are gorgeous :) They are so comfortable to wear, and though the material is quite thin, they are so warm! (Soz for the crappy quality, i'm still working on getting a new camera):
Photobucket

On Saturday morning, i got a New Look magazine :) Because i'm a member of the mylook website, they sent me the latest edition of Most Wanted :) Filled with fashion goodies from New Look, and inspiring outfits to burst your way into Spring, it was a lovely read, including an interview with the gorgeous Alexa Chung. Also comes with a 20% discount card, either to use online or in store, which was pretty gravy :D
Photobucket

Today is Mother's Day in the UK (i dunno how it works in other countries), so me, my mum and my two little brothers went to Nando's for a meal :) Nando's is actually amazing, i swear i'm in love <3 And the weather was perfect today, but apparently tomorrow's gonna rain so that sucks big time :\ Here's what i wore:
